Introduction to the Doge's Palace: The Doge's Palace was the residence, office and court of the Doge during the Republic of Venice. It was the central political institution at that time.
The palace is made of pink and white marble, with a strict and gorgeous shape. There are Gothic cloisters connected by arcades in the palace. The golden staircase on the second floor of the middle building of the palace was built in the 16th century. It was once the official building of the Governor's Palace. The entrance; the halls on the 2nd and 3rd floors are decorated with Venetian paintings, full of luxury and nobility; the ceiling murals in the four foyers, the murals in the reception room, and the large conference hall lined with portraits of successive governors are the focus of the tour.
Follow the tour sequence and pass the famous Bridge of Sighs to reach the Venetian Prison built in the 9th century.
