Introduction to the Parliament Building: The Austrian Parliament Building (Österreichisches Parlament) was built in 1883 and is a Greek Revival building. The building is located near the Hofburg Palace and is the seat of both chambers of the Austrian Parliament. In front of the building is the most famous statue of the goddess Athena. The sculpture at her feet symbolizes the four major rivers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire: Danube, Rhine, Elbe and Moldova.
