Altar introduction: The Wiener Neustadter Altar is located in the recessed hall in the north of the church. The altar was built in 1447. The decorations on the pillars inside and outside the altar once again show us the luxury and extravagance of the palace in the past. Tobias •Tobias Pock's 1647 Baroque altarpiece shows the scene of Stephen's martyrdom and is the most exquisite Gothic work of art in the church.
In 1754 the tombstone of Prince Eugen von Savoyen was placed here, as well as the spectacular marble tomb of Frederic III (1440-1493).
