Introduction to the Palace Square: There is a granite column at the southern end of the square west of the Warsaw Palace. The top of the column is the bronze statue of Chigmunt III, who decided to make Warsaw the capital. This column is 30 meters high and is the oldest in Warsaw. The monument is also one of the symbols of Warsaw.
