Every time Yugu's husband went to sea to fish, Yugu would go to the top of Weifeng Mountain, hold up the jade and look at the sea, praying for peace. The husband often comes home with a full load. However, one time, Yugu's husband was going to go fishing again. Yugu was not in good health. Her husband was afraid that Yugu would go to the mountain to pray again, so he secretly took Yu out to sea. However, he encountered a big storm and did not come back for a long time. Yugu was so worried that she went to the top of Weifeng Mountain every day to pray and wait for her husband to return. Day after day, year after year, when her hair and clothes turned white, her husband did not come back. Her sincerity moved God, so he transformed her into a god. Every year on March 15th of the lunar calendar, it is Xiangu's birthday. On this day, the local Xiangu Temple Fair is held here.
