Introduction to Dongjue Temple: Dongjue Temple is said to have been built in Nanzhao and was destroyed during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty (1851-1861). The Palace of the Sun and the Twin Towers now exist. Sun Palace, with a single eaves on the top of the mountain, is five rooms wide, surrounded by corridors, and has heavy brackets under the eaves. It is thick and simple. It was built in the 16th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1418). The twin towers outside the gate were built by the local official Zuo of Menghua Prefecture in the first year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1465). They are nine-level square towers with dense eaves. There are stone Buddha statues built into the caves of the towers.
