Introduction to the mountain gate: The Five Buddhas Temple was formerly known as Schist Temple and Huangyan Temple, and is commonly known as the Five Buddhas Cave. According to the remaining inscriptions, the temple was built during the reign of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty and was restored successively during the Yingzong reign of the Ming Dynasty and the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty. There is an existing merit stele in the temple for the restoration of the temple, which clearly records that "it was established in the autumn of the Jiayin year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty".
