Introduction to the Goose Pond: The Goose Pond is located in the southern area of the park, 209 meters southeast of the Yellow Crane Tower and 103 meters southwest of the Baiyun Pavilion. It is closely connected to the Bailong Pond and is the center of the southern area's landscape.
The sage Wang Xizhi loved geese. He said that geese are "heroes among birds, white as snow, as clean as jade, spotless."
In 1986, the current Goose Pond was built based on these legends. A stone bridge was built on the water surface shaped like a crescent moon, dividing the pond into two parts. The south part with a larger water surface is called Echid Pond, and the northern part with smaller water surface is called Bailong Pond.
The water surface area of the Goose Pond is about 600 square meters. Water lilies and royal lilies are planted in the pond. There are also two rockeries made of Taihu stones. Red carp and koi carp roam leisurely in the water, and several white geese "bend their necks to the sky." Song" constitutes a beautiful natural landscape painting.
