Introduction to the Xixia stele: The Xixia stele was engraved in the fifth year of Emperor Chongzong of the Western Xia Dynasty (1094). Its original name is "Inscription on the Gantong Pagoda of the Huguo Temple in Liangzhou". It is the only existing and most complete Xixia inscription in the country. This stone tablet has the most Chinese characters and is one of the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the country.
The Xixia stele is 2.6 meters high, 1 meter wide and 0.3 meters thick, with inscriptions on both sides. The front is inscribed in Western Xia script, which means "the inscription of the Gantong Pagoda of the imperial edict", and the back is in Chinese seal script "The inscription of the Gantong Pagoda of the Huguo Temple was rebuilt in Liangzhou". The inscription roughly tells the story of the initial construction, manifestation and reconstruction of the Huguo Temple Pagoda. Through the process, many historical materials have been preserved, which are of great value to the study of Xixia language and economy and society. It is called a living "dictionary" for studying Xixia by Chinese and foreign scholars. In addition to text, there are also a variety of patterns, flowers, figures, etc. The carving skills are superb and beautiful, and have a high level of craftsmanship.
