Introduction to the Millennium Ancient Plank Road: In the Miao Gorge Canyon, on the cliffs on both sides of the cliff, there are 6,888 artificial square stone holes dug one after another. The holes are arranged in parallel, about five feet apart, six inches square, and about a foot deep. This is the ancient plank road along the Daning River. The ancient plank road surrounds the mountains along the Daning River, criss-crossing and winding for thousands of kilometers, running through the three provinces (cities) of Hubei, Shaanxi and Chongqing. Its scale and difficulty of construction are even greater than those of Sichuan Jiange Plank Road.
