Introduction to Mazu Palace: Mazu Palace is dedicated to Mazu, the legendary goddess in charge of maritime shipping. There are 9 Mazu temples on the Dongtou Islands. The Mazu Palace in Dongsha was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It is the largest and most complete one remaining in Zhejiang and is listed as a provincial cultural protection unit. Along the central axis of the temple, there are foyer, stage, wing room, patio, inner door, worship pavilion, side room and main hall. The whole building faces north and south, facing the mountains and the sea. It is exquisitely designed, rigorously laid out, simple and exquisite, and well preserved.
