After quickly occupying Xiajin County, Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty sent Yu Wenhuaji and his army to conquer. After Dou Jiande heard the news, he built the "Dianjiang Platform" on the sand dunes east of Beipudian, ordered the generals to swear an oath, and led his army southward.
