Introduction to the Giant Bell: The giant bell originally hung in the Xi'an Bell Tower was the "Jingyun Bell" cast during the Jingyun period of the Tang Dynasty. In 1953, the Jingyun Bell was moved to the Xi'an Stele Forest Museum and is now on display in the East Pavilion of Ermenli. The Xi'an Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau copied the Jingyun Bell and hung it at the northwest corner of the Xi'an Bell Tower base on January 30, 1997. It is now open to tourists. The replica Jingyun Bell has a similar appearance to the original bell, with a height of 2.45 meters, a weight of 6.5 tons, and an outer diameter of the bell skirt of 1.65 meters. The decoration and inscriptions are exactly like the original bell, and the sound quality is loud and powerful, comparable to the original bell.
