Introduction to Tawan Town: Tawan Town, historically known as the west gate of Hengshan County, is located 28 kilometers southwest of Hengshan County along the Luhe River. Its southern part is a ravine and hilly area, and its northern part is the sandy area of the Maowu Desert. It sits at the foot of the ancient Great Wall, and is divided into two sides by the Lu River in the east and west. It is a famous land of fish and rice in the northwest region. The main historical sites in the town are Hengshan Bell Tower and the ruins of Mighty Fort.
