Introduction to the Ancient Imperial Cypress Road: Historical records indicate that after the Qin Dynasty unified China, it standardized post roads and post stations across the country. Trees were planted along the roads to provide shade from the sun. Cypress trees were widely planted on the post roads south of Jianmen Pass. From the Qin Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Officials of all dynasties have ordered the protection of cypress trees along the road, so the ancient post road is also called "Imperial Cypress Avenue". There are post stations every 10-20 miles on the avenue. There are 108 inns from Chang'an to Chengdu. There are agarwood shops and kangxiang shops in Xianhai. Now the agarwood shops have been submerged at the bottom of Xianhai Lake. This section of the ancient post road is all made of Paved with flat and wide stone slabs, it has become an important tourist node displaying ancient Shu culture. The ruts that are more than a foot deep reflect the prosperity of the bustling era.
