Introduction to the Martyrs Memorial Hall: Because Dongyue Temple is the birthplace of the first CCP group in Mianyang County, countless revolutionary martyrs sacrificed their lives and blood for the liberation cause of Mianyang people. In order to commemorate the martyrs and educate Later generations built the Mianyang People's Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall and Monument on the former site of Dongyue Temple in 1992.
Inside the Martyrs Memorial Hall, there are profiles and photos of more than 100 martyrs in the Miancheng area, as well as many oil paintings reflecting the revolutionary struggle in the Miancheng area. The monument is 5 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 15 meters high. It reads "Monument to the Mianyang People's Revolutionary Martyrs" and was inscribed by Ishikawa, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People's Congress. Now the Martyrs Memorial Hall has become a patriotic education base.
During the Qingming Festival, some primary and secondary school students hold red flags high and hold flowers in their hands, and line up to the memorial hall to pay homage to the martyrs’ spirits, listen to the martyrs’ stories, witness the martyrs’ blood-stained demeanor, and visit the footprints of the martyrs and heroes.
