Introduction to Shiratani Unsui Gorge: Shiratani Unsui Gorge is located in the northern part of Yakushima, in the valley of the Shiratani River, a tributary of the Miyanoura River. Deep in it, known as the Princess Mononoke Forest, is the deep secret that inspired Miyazaki Jun. Climbing up the stairs along the wooden path, you will find a gurgling stream, mottled tree shadows in the forest, and various fir trees with thousands of years of age standing side by side in rows and rows.
