Introduction to Yang Zirong: Yang Zirong is the prototype of Yang Zirong in the Peking Opera "Taking the Powerful Tiger Mountain by Wisdom". Born in Jiaodong, Shandong in 1917. In the autumn of 1945, he joined the "Naval Detachment" of the Jiaodong Military Region of the Eighth Route Army and later joined the Communist Party of China. In early 1946, the troops went to Hailin County, Heilongjiang Province and were reorganized into the Second Regiment of the Mudanjiang Military Region. Comrade Zirong served as squad leader of 1st Platoon, 7th Platoon, 3rd Battalion. In April of the same year, he was promoted to platoon leader of the reconnaissance platoon directly under the regiment headquarters. In order to establish a solid base in the Northeast, Yang Zirong fought bravely and wisely during more than a year of suppressing bandits, and made many military exploits. In early February 1947, he broke into the bandit's lair alone, cooperated inside and outside, and captured the bandit leader "Zuo Shandiao" alive, and was awarded third-class merit. On February 23, he died heroically in the battle to chase down the remaining bandits in Naozhizigou, Lishugou Mountain, north of Hailin.
