Introduction to the ancient Luan tree: The ancient Luan tree has a history of more than 600 years. Luan tree, also called Luanhua, or lantern tree, is a deciduous tree that grows south of the Yellow River and Yangtze River. It is rare that such a tree also grows on Yantai Mountain on the northern coast. Legend has it that in the Ming Dynasty, there was a young southern soldier who lived on the Yangtze River in the Yantai Mountain garrison. Because of his homesickness, he often faced the south and burst into tears, which moved a migrating bird. In the spring of the second year, the little bird brought a Luan tree seed from the soldier's hometown and placed it in the soil beside the rocks not far from the Yantai Mountain barracks. Within a few days, the small Luan tree sprouted out of the ground and soon grew into this. It is a towering tree, so this tree is also called the "homesick tree".
