Introduction to the Anti-Japanese Martyrs Memorial Hall: On August 15, 1945, the Japanese government announced its unconditional surrender. At dawn on the 24th, Yantai was successfully liberated. In the battle to liberate Yantai, more than 1,500 Japanese and puppet troops were wiped out, and 89 Eighth Route Army soldiers died heroically. In order to commemorate the anti-Japanese heroes who sacrificed their lives in the battle to liberate Yantai, the Yantai Municipal People's Government, in accordance with the instructions of the Jiaodong Administrative Office, built the "Anti-Japanese Martyrs Monument" on the west side of the Yantai Mountain Martyrs' Shrine in May 1946. The monument is 8 meters tall and in the shape of a Wuling. Column-shaped, it is built of milky white granite stones. On the south side of the monument are eight red characters "National Heroes Will Live Through the Ages", and on the back are the names of 89 martyrs.
