Introduction to the British Consulate: Since the opening of Yantai as a port, 17 foreign consulates have been built in and around the beautiful Yantai Mountain. Among them, the British was the first to build the museum, occupying the largest area and being the largest in scale. It owned almost two-thirds of the foothills of Yantai Mountain. This shows the British power and status in Yantai at that time. Now it has been opened as the Exhibition Hall of Yantai's Local Chronicles and Historical Materials. The display content includes Yantai's local chronicles and historical materials, local documents and local chronicles and other valuable historical materials collected from a wide range of society. The exhibition comprehensively introduces the historical development of Yantai in modern times. The exhibition is divided into 9 sections: overview of Yantai, architecture, streets, social industries, anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism, newspapers and magazines, people's life, folk art, folk costumes, various social aspects, etc. By viewing these historical materials, it can help us review history, remember the past, inspire national spirit and patriotic enthusiasm, and promote the construction of two civilizations.
