Introduction to Geghard Monastery: Located in a canyon 40 kilometers southeast of Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, it is surrounded by mountains and is magnificent. It is said to have been built in the 4th century. The current building was built in the 13th century and is also called Elifank, which means "cave church" in Armenian. It was named because most of the buildings were carved into the rock. The monastery includes a central church, 2 cave churches and a prince's tomb. The central church was built in 1215 and is still well preserved. A cave church was built in the 1340s and 1350s, northwest of the central church porch; another cave church was built in 1283. The tomb is located diagonally above the first cave church. It has an outer corridor and is 12 meters square. 4 Arrange the arches to make a "well" cross. The four intersection points are four thick stone pillars, with a skylight on top of cotton in the middle, which is extremely magnificent. The mausoleum and its outer corridor were both built in 1288.
