Introduction to Ma Benzhai: Ma Benzhai (1901-1944), formerly known as Ma Shouqing and named Yusuf Ma Benzhai, was a Hui nationality in Cangzhou, Hebei and a famous anti-Japanese hero. He led the Jizhong Hui Detachment to fight against the Japanese and puppet troops for more than 870 times. He was both brave and strategic and made important contributions to the establishment and consolidation of the base area. Mao Zedong called it "the Hui Detachment that has been victorious in every battle." On September 14, 2009, Ma Benzhai was named one of the 100 heroic models who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China and a memorial hall was established.
