Roof introduction: On the top of the Drum Tower is a two-story, eight-eaves and octagonal umbrella-topped pagoda, called "Qiangan". Its fine craftsmanship is rare among Chinese wooden structures. The top is embedded with a ceramic orb spire that reaches into the sky. The beams on each floor below the pavilion are nailed with rubber, and the tiles are beaten with large and small peach vines and mixed with lime, which is very strong. The eaves are painted with dragons, phoenixes, fish, crabs, shrimps and other animal patterns, which are beautiful and spectacular.
