Introduction to Aiwu House: Wang Family Garden was originally called "Aiwu House" and was built by Wang Yaoyu, a prominent figure in Shanghai's financial circles in the 1930s and 1940s. Aiwu House used half of the west half of the original foundation; the east half reached the Youjia ditch. His brother Wang Xifu planned to build a house similar to Aiwu House, but he was unable to do so due to the Japanese invasion of China.
