Introduction to the Balang Stele: The Guiguzi Monument is the Balang wordless stele. It was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. The Eight Great Squires of Zichuan erected it to commemorate the 2,000th anniversary of Guiguzi’s birth. This stele was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and only the dragon head stele remained. The hat was reestablished in the spring of 1995.
