On this day, we started the second stage of riding, taking National Highway 318 and crossing Wula Mountain.

Day12

Mangkang→Lawu Mountain→Rumei→Jueba Village→Professor Inn

It was good weather again, the sun was shining brightly, and it was not difficult to climb the Wula Mountain. I rode with a small plate. Although the speed was very slow, the scenery was good. This was the most comfortable mountain climbing ever.

Many times you can see the winding mountain road above very close to your location.

But don’t try to take a shortcut and push the cart over, because when you push over, you will find that the geology here is very loose and uneven, and there are many thorns that can only be seen when you get closer, which creates a dilemma.

Easily climb to the top of Ula Mountain.

The scenery on the top of the mountain is unique and the wind is not strong. I stayed on the top of the mountain for a while.

Look back at this winding mountain road.

After taking a short rest, we went all the way downhill to Rumei. The bare landscape suddenly became filled with green trees and blooming peach blossoms. Many cyclists will choose to stay in Rumei.

We plan to continue forward to reach the mountainside of Jueba Mountain, where there is accommodation, so that the climb over Jueba Mountain the next day will be less strenuous.

Going further, the scenery gradually becomes dull.

The colors are monotonous, but I quite like the monotony.

Passing by the village, you will see a completely different life and living environment.

Free range livestock.

After the downhill climb, of course, the 10-kilometer or so climb was a bit tiring because it was too hot and rainy, and the jacket was not very breathable, making the whole person uncomfortable.

Before dark, we arrived at Jueba Village at the foot of the mountain and stayed at the legendary Professor’s Inn. The inn had not been renovated at that time and the environment was very bad. Now that I think about it, it would be really nice to have a place to stay overnight on the mountainside. Besides, the dinner cooked by the professor is quite good. The renovation should have been completed long ago, and the environment should have been greatly improved.

Day13

Jueba Village→Jueba Mountain→Dengba→Rongxu→Langka Tourism Home

In the morning, I had a big bowl of egg-fried rice made by the professor at the inn. Breakfast on the Yunnan-Tibet line is basically the same, either egg-fried rice or egg-boiled noodles. The general principle is to be full. Go back and take a photo of the Professor's Inn, then head off.

The weather is still good, but climbing over Jueba Mountain is said to be more difficult.

Looking back at the winding mountain road that I have climbed, I always feel a sense of accomplishment.

We reached the top in no time, and I didn’t realize the legendary difficulty at all. It may have something to do with the good weather, or it may have something to do with the big bowl of fried rice in the morning.

After lightening some weight at the pass, continue to Rongxu Military Station. After crossing Jueba Mountain, the journey ahead should be easier.

Passing by a house under construction, it would be nice to see Tibetans singing and dancing as they hammer down the roof.

The wind behind us was too strong, and the cross wind was blowing in waves. The wind was so strong that it could knock people and cars over. I soon became tired and slowed down. At that time, a car passed me with a crash, and when I looked up, I saw that it was a girl. Internally: "What, I was overtaken by a girl?"

When I arrived at Rongxu Military Station, I realized why she could overtake my car on a gentle slope. This car was equipped with a motor. This battery provides a lot of help and is indeed a good idea for girls.

It's still early, but I'm hungry, so I drink some butter tea while waiting for dinner.

The food and accommodation conditions were very poor these two days, and I was not allowed to take a shower for two nights. It actually got dark very early that day, but there was no hot water. After dinner, I went to the river to get some cold water and then went to bed.

When I wake up, I have to climb a pass with an altitude of 5008m and cross Dongda Mountain. This mountain has snow 335 days a year. It is difficult to ride, but after climbing over it, you can reach Zuogong. This is the motivation.

Day14

Honor → Dongda Mountain → Zuogong

We started out early today, climbing at high altitude, cold, and lacking oxygen. Everyone felt like they had to stop and rest after just 5 kilometers.

The river on the roadside is also covered with ice.

The water I filled in the morning actually froze within an hour? ? ? It contains freshly boiled water.

It's much more comfortable when the sun rises, it's pure blue and cloudless.

National Highway 318, why are you so charming?

Counting milestones on national highways is something we do every day. It tells us how far we have ridden and how far we still have to reach our destination. Milestones are often used as geographical reference locations for sightseeing and meals in road books.

Moving forward in the headwind, the air is thin, and it is too difficult to climb Dongda Mountain, Dongda Mountain.

A Bin, who was the most physically fit in the team, immediately lay down to rest, and said a classic saying, "Lie down at a lower altitude."

Fortunately, it didn't snow that day and the sky was beautiful. This meant that my body was in hell and my eyes were in heaven.

It's difficult to breathe, my heart is broken, and it's so hard to lie on the ground, isn't it delicious?

This should be the day with the most stops and rests, mainly due to the headwind climb at high altitude.

We finally reached the pass at an altitude of 5008 meters. The latest altitude measurement is 5130 meters. I couldn't help but sing "Ask how high the sky is, but my ambition is higher than the sky."

Arriving at Zuogong, you can spend the night in the county town today, have a big meal of meat, and most importantly, take a hot bath.

The kid said he wanted to swap cars with me, so please stop making trouble.

After going down the mountain, the distance between the front and back of the team was very wide. I rememberwhen we were on this roadmy mother called me and asked me in a teasing toneif I didn’t have money to pay the phone billWhy did it take two daysDidn't call home.

Arrive at Zuogong, have a nice dinner, take a shower and wash clothes. The next day will be accompanied by the Yuqu River, leaving behind the plateau climbing road.
