Author l Brother Ping

During this National Day, I drove my Weilai ES6 with another friend on a self-driving trip from Guangzhou to Sanya. We departed on October 1st and returned to Guangzhou on October 6th. I wrote this travel diary for those who want the same experience. Friends who drive in Sanya can use it as a reference and as a souvenir for themselves.

1. Basic information about self-driving

1. Vehicle: Weilai ES6, temporarily rented 100-degree battery, with a battery life of 610 kilometers (high-speed battery life of about 420 kilometers);

2. Personnel: Me and another buddy, he is the owner of Xiaopeng P7, and we drove my car on this trip;

3. Equipment: In addition to the accompanying clothes, I also brought a handheld gimbal for shooting, a folding box from the Ju Neng series from the Surprise Mall, 1 car charger (not used), 1 set of camping equipment (1 stool , 2 chairs);

4. Strategy: If you haven’t done it yet, it’s up to you wherever you go.

5. Expenses: Electricity fee is 0 yuan, transportation fee is 83 yuan, accommodation and catering are 1,600 yuan per person.

2. Why do you think of driving in Hainan?

"Brother Ping, what are your plans for the National Day? Do you want to consider driving to Xinjiang from Guangzhou?"

At around eight o'clock in the evening on September 29, Wen Jin (Chairman of Shenghan High IQ Club, owner of Xpeng P7) asked me on WeChat if I wanted to drive to Xinjiang by myself. The total distance from Guangzhou to Xinjiang is 4,500 kilometers, and it takes 10 days just to drive back and forth. In addition, Xinjiang has been closed for some time due to the epidemic, so I replied to him, why not go to Hainan.

Seeing that he was a little hesitant, I said that it would be fine to go to Danxia Mountain in Shaoguan. It was a short distance and two or three days would be enough. Then there would be no further details.

At noon on September 30, he sent a message: " Brother Ping, I’d better go to Xinjiang alone and drive a (Xpeng P7) electric car to ", and also sent me a map on his car Navigation route map from Guangzhou to Kashgar, Xinjiang...

Don’t go to Xinjiang, go to Hainan. Xinjiang is too far away, so I went to Hainan.

"I suspect that you didn't go to Xinjiang at all. You just sent me a navigation map to Xinjiang " I said.

"You have very good judgment" he replied.

Originally, I wanted to drive out for fun, but I didn’t know where to go, so let’s go to Hainan. I learned a little about the epidemic prevention and control situation, and after doing nucleic acid tests, I was ready to go.

3. What are the references for the travel notes?

Day 1: October 1

Distance: Guangzhou to Haikou

The energy replenishment route is as follows:

1. From Guangzhou Navigation to NIO Battery Swapping Station Yangjiang Shibazi Store, the total distance is 279.2 kilometers. Due to traffic jams, it took 7.3 hours (normal travel is about 2.5 hours), and I did the first battery swap.

2. From the NIO Battery Swapping Station in Yangjiang Shibazi Branch to the NIO Battery Swapping Station in the Guandu Service Area of Shenhai Expressway, the total distance is 222.6 kilometers. Due to traffic jams, it took 4.6 hours to do the second battery swap.

3. Driving from Guandu Service Area to Zhanjiang Xuwen Port Terminal, the total distance is 158.8 kilometers and takes 2.1 hours.

Yangjiang Shibazi Battery Swapping Station requires getting off the expressway, but it is not far away. After entering the parking lot where the battery swapping station is located, you can park in the parking lot when the battery swap is completed and find a place to eat nearby. There is no parking fee in the parking lot.

The two sides of the Guandu service area are not connected to each other. The NIO power swap station is located on the side from Guangzhou to Haikou. If you are returning to Guangzhou from Haikou, don’t swap power in the Guandu service area. You can go to the Zhanjiang Sinopec Yuanshui power swap station.

The reason why I chose to exchange electricity at the Guandu service area instead of driving all the way to Xuwen Port was because it was already night after arriving at the port and it would be troublesome to exchange electricity. It was also convenient to exchange electricity at the service area.

At nine o'clock in the evening, when I experienced a quick battery swap and was about to leave the service area, I saw vehicles queuing up at the gas station nearby to refuel. I couldn't help but sigh: Who said that refueling must be slower than refueling? That’s not the case with NIO.

(Fuel trucks queuing up for refueling)

(Exchange battery at Guandu service area)

Xuwen Port customs clearance method:

Step 1: Follow the "Xuwen Port" WeChat column, and after entering, select "Ferry Ticket Booking"

Step 2: Select Haian to Haikou, the departure port is Xuwen Port, select the ticket type as car and accompanying personnel, and after querying, you can see the timetable, with two flights per hour and a 5-minute interval between each flight.

Step 3: After arriving at Xuwen Port, use the ticket machine on the side to take out the ticket with your ID card and hand it to the driver (leave one person to drive, the rest get off the bus, do not take the luggage), the passengers get off the bus and go to the overpass, and the passengers take the aisle.

Step 4: At the passenger passage, use your ID card to take out the passenger ticket voucher. The reason why you do not need to take your luggage when you get off the bus is because it is much faster for passengers to go through the security check at this time.

Step 5: The driver drives through the vehicle passage and enters the cabin to park. Remember which floor of the cabin his car is parked on. Passengers take the passenger passage and enter the cabin directly.

We arrived at Xuwen Port at 22:45 on October 1. The ship left Xuwen Port at around 23:10 (the last flight of the day). It was thrilling and we almost missed it.

It may be that the epidemic in August affected Hainan's tourism economy. During the National Day, the 415 yuan ticket (the cost of the vehicle, boat and accompanying driver) from Xuwen Port to Haikou was not charged, and only the fee of another passenger was 41.5 yuan. This can be regarded as Hainan's order. A great way to attract tourists. Returning to Xuwen Port from Haikou is also exempted from 415 yuan, and we saved 830 yuan for this.

The ship arrived at Haikou New Seaport Terminal after sailing for 90 minutes. At the exit of the terminal, the driver and passengers need to get off the vehicle and take nucleic acid samples before they are released. Vehicles go to the right, and passengers walk to the left and meet the vehicles at the exit.

After a lot of hard work, we arrived at the hotel room in Haikou at 3 a.m. on October 2.

(Dabai’s first time taking a boat)

The next day: October 2

Distance: Haikou to Wenchang

Energy replenishment route: NIO Battery Swapping Station Changtian Road, Haikou, battery swap once

We slept until after ten o'clock in the morning and then went out to look for the freshest ingredients...

A friend found a breakfast shop in an alley on Douyin. We saw it was near the hotel, so we rode there. There are a lot of motorcycles in Haikou. There are special motorcycle lanes on both sides of the road, and green plants are used to separate them, which is very friendly.

(Haikou urban area has dedicated non-motorized lanes)

I ordered a small portion of seafood noodles, which cost 15 yuan, and my friend ordered a large portion, which cost 20 yuan. But after it was served, I found that there was not much difference, hahahahahahaha. The boss aunt is very good at business and even came over to ask us if it was delicious. My friend who was eating a large portion of seafood noodles for 20 yuan remained silent.

(Super affordable seafood noodles)

Attraction 1: Haikou Crater National Geopark

Ticket: 54 yuan/person

Visit:About 2 hours

Hainan Island was originally connected to the mainland. Later, due to geological activities, the middle collapsed to form the Qiongzhou Strait, and Hainan Island became an "island". Coupled with volcanic eruptions on the island, the current Hainan Island was gradually formed. This park was built in the Fengluling Crater.

(Take a tourist photo)

Walking into the park, it is interesting to see the unique basalt and volcanic rocks caused by volcanic activity. The volcanic rocks are like the layer-by-layer structure formed when you knead dough.

(porous basalt)

(volcanic rock formed by layers of accumulated lava)

It's just that this park is more like a city park. The 54 yuan ticket is too expensive (20 yuan is acceptable). It goes all the way up to the Fenggluling Crater, which is like a big pot.

(crater)

"Let's go down to the bottom of the cave and have a look" I said

"No, there's nothing good to see" Wen Jin didn't want to go, he was a bit fat.

"You're here, where's the 54 yuan ticket" I said

Along some steep stone steps, I saw various plants beside the stone steps and beautiful young ladies who also came to visit after passing by the stone steps...

(bottom of the crater)

The highest point of the crater is said to be the highest point of Haikou, with an altitude of 222.8 meters, but the scenery is good. I photographed the "Zhu Yingtai" (butterfly) flying in the sky.

("Zhu Yingtai" and airplane)

Attraction 2: Holiday Beach

Tickets: Free

Visit: Anytime

After leaving the Geopark, we went to Haikou Changtian Road Battery Exchange Station to exchange batteries. We were originally going to go directly to Wenchang, but we passed by Holiday Beach and thought it was good, so we parked on the side of Changtian Road (free parking) and walked to the beach. Come to think of it, this free urban beach is particularly nice.

(Scenic holiday beach)

(glider)

The sand on the beach is fine, with almost no large particles. The sea water is clean, and you can see some small shellfish on the beach. So we played for 90 minutes. We found that it was getting late, and we were worried that we would go to Wenchang at night, so we reluctantly left. left. If you are not in a hurry, it is recommended to stay until evening and walk with friends.

After leaving Holiday Beach, we drove all the way to Wenchang.

Day Three: October 3

Distance: in Wenchang

Energy replenishment route: Because the battery has been replaced in Haikou, Wenchang is only 90 kilometers away from Haikou, so there is no need to replenish energy.

A friend found a Wenchang Chicken Farmhouse on a review, which is located in the coconut grove area in the eastern suburbs. We arrived at this store along twists and turns along highways, national highways, provincial roads, county roads, rural roads, and unknown roads...

There were only a few diners in the bustling store, and I felt keenly, would this Wenchang Chicken not be delicious?

With the mentality of "what if it tastes good", I still ordered one, 148 yuan, divided into coconut chicken and braised chicken. After waiting for half an hour, when it was served, it turned out to be average.

I complained to my friend: "This is not a Wenchang chicken, this is a chicken living in Wenchang." My friend said: "Find someone good to make up for it tomorrow".

(Not delicious Wenchang chicken)

Early the next morning, we checked out of the hotel and went out to find the freshest ingredients...

In an inconspicuous little shop on a certain street in Wenchang, which is like an eighteenth-tier county town, I found a shop selling salt-baked chicken. After waiting for 20 minutes, the salt-baked chicken wrapped in white oil paper was revealed little by little. The end result is: all we eat is chicken bones.

"This 80 yuan is worth much more than last night."

(Delicious salt-baked chicken)

Attraction 3: Moon Bay Beach

Tickets: Free

Visit: Anytime

Moon Bay Beach is located in the east of Wenchang City. It is an unmanaged beach, so there are not many recreational facilities and there are no security measures. It purely depends on the awareness of tourists. However, this is also the largest beach I have ever seen. It’s really Very magnificent.

(The endless Moon Bay Beach)

The beach is very wide on both sides and you can't see the edge. I feel that even if 10,000 people appear on the beach at the same time, you will not feel crowded. But that day, there were only more than 20 people visible to the naked eye.

(The photos I took are still good-looking - Wen Jin is in the picture)

After parking the car at the entrance to the beach, I took the folding stools and chairs I had prepared, found a very nice place, laid out my equipment, and prepared to enjoy my vacation comfortably.

Ten minutes later, it started to rain...

(What a coincidence)

Attraction 4: China Hainan (South China Sea) Museum

Tickets: Free

Visit: The museum closes at 17:00, we arrived at 16:30

After leaving Moon Bay Beach, I was worried that I had nowhere to go. I opened Baidu Maps and saw a museum marked on the seaside to the south. This is interesting. Let’s drive there.

The China Hainan (South China Sea) Museum is located in Tanmen Town, Qionghai City. You can tell from the place name that it is in a town. I thought it would be a small museum, but when I arrived, I discovered that it was too large.

It is a national first-class museum with a total construction area of more than 70,000 square meters, which is larger than the Guangdong Provincial Museum in Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou. However, it is built in a town...

With limited time, we visited the whale exhibition and the special exhibition of the No. 1 shipwreck of Xisha Huaguang Reef.

During the Southern Song Dynasty 800 years ago, a merchant ship ran aground and sank while sailing to Huaguang Reef in the Paracel Islands. It was discovered and salvaged 800 years later, allowing us to see the appearance of Chinese porcelain from the Southern Song Dynasty.

(Whale Exhibition)

If you know history, you must know that Zhang Qian, who was called "hollowed out" by Sima Qian, went on a mission to the Western Regions and opened up the land Silk Road. The Maritime Silk Road can be seen from the Chinese shipwreck sites around the world published by the museum. The road map is out.

If you like to visit museums, it is recommended to arrive three hours in advance. There is a limit of 7,000 people here every day (only 700 people can enter the museum that day), so you can visit more exhibition halls.

Let me share a little tip about visiting museums: Provincial museums everywhere will tell local stories, from the Stone Age to modern times. If you see how they tell the lives of local people, you will learn more about the city.

Day 4: October 4

Distance: Qionghai to Sanya

Energy replenishment route: NIO Battery Swapping Station, Qionghai Aihua East Road, battery swap once

After leaving the museum, we drove all the way to Sanya and arrived at Yalong Bay Tourist Resort at 8 pm on October 4.

We found a hotel to stay near Baihua Valley. It was also the most expensive hotel we stayed in during this trip, costing 410 yuan per room.

After settling in, we found a Nanhai Li Village restaurant for dinner in the Baihua Valley in the bleak autumn wind. When I first came to Yalong Bay five years ago, the place was crowded and lively. When I came here today, there were only a few people and the sound of chickens and dogs could be heard. .

(A flying fish worth over a hundred people)

I ordered shrimp, fish and other food in Licun, Nanhai, and the total cost was 275 yuan. However, a portion of 98 yuan only had less than 8 shrimps. Come on, this is the seaside, and the price of shrimps is more expensive than in Guangzhou.

The restaurant radio continues to play advertisements, introducing the special foods in the restaurant: flying fish, chickens that can grow into trees, cows that never come home, and five-legged pigs.

"There are still two lambs to be slaughtered ", we said with a wry smile.

Attraction 5: Atlantis Lost Chambers Aquarium

Ticket: 168 yuan/person

Visit: 1 hour

This aquarium is in a scenic area, surrounded by water world and other tourist facilities. The aquarium introduces some regular marine animals, as well as two beluga whales swimming around (in contrast, living in Zhuhai The long-running white whale is much happier).

(Pacific sea spiny jellyfish)

But the surprise is that there is a mermaid show here. The young lady wearing a bikini on top and a fishtail suit on the bottom swam into the huge aquarium while holding her breath, interacting with tourists, and the photographer took the opportunity to sell photo services.

(Mermaid performance)

After leaving the aquarium, we finally found a cost-effective seafood restaurant and had a satisfying and affordable seafood meal for a total of 288 yuan.

Attraction 6: Clear Water Bay Beach

Tickets: Free

Visit: Anytime

After eating and drinking, we wanted to go for a walk on the beach. We searched along the coastline and finally found a beach with not many people and good conditions, Clearwater Bay Beach.

When I arrived at the scene, I found that although Clear Water Bay is not as big as Moon Bay, it is not bad. However, there are too few people. There are no more than 15 people visible to the naked eye...

(Clear Water Bay, where the sea water is particularly beautiful)

Still the same, open the folding chairs and tables, find a better place, stay quietly and enjoy the sea breeze, this is the feeling of vacation.

30 minutes later, it started to rain...

Since we always eat and drink enough before looking for a place to stay at night, this time was no exception. We found a hotel near Yalong Bay to stay.

When checking in, the front desk informed me that because a confirmed case was found in Sanya today, all tourists may need to be quarantined for 7 days. This may not be necessary. The policy has not yet been determined, but it is recommended not to go out after check-in.

With an uneasy heart and considering that we couldn't go anywhere at night, we checked in, and then we remembered that the vehicle's battery life was only more than 100 kilometers, and the nearest battery swap station was 19 kilometers away...

Isn’t there a one-click power-on service? I've had my car for two years and haven't used it once, so I'll give it a try this time. Half an hour later, the service guy drove my car away. An hour and a half later, the vehicle was fully charged and parked at its original location. The whole time, I was in the hotel room playing with my phone, it was so cool.

(Innocent one-click power-up service)

Day 5: October 5

Distance: Sanya to Yangjiang

Energy replenishment route: Haikou Culture and Sports Park Power Swap Station and Yangjiang Shibazi Power Swap Station, swap power twice.

At 7:30 on October 5, we checked out. After taking nucleic acid tests near the hotel, we decisively chose to evacuate. We drove non-stop all the way to Haikou. After a simple lunch, we arrived at Haikou New Seaport Terminal.

Since the nucleic acid test had already been done in Sanya, and the negative nucleic acid result was still within 24 hours, I drove smoothly and boarded the ship to Xuwen Port in Zhanjiang.

(Ferry on Qiongzhou Strait - return trip)

Because we had friends visiting Hailing Island in Yangjiang, we decided to meet them there. On the evening of October 5th, after driving 730 kilometers, we arrived at Hailing Island.

Day Six: October 6

Distance: Yangjiang to Guangzhou

Energy replenishment route: enough power to return to Guangzhou

Haikou City issued a notice on October 6 to implement nucleic acid testing for all employees. People should not go out unless necessary and restrict the movement of people. They must have a green code, pass card, and nucleic acid test for 24 hours before leaving Haikou. Fortunately, we made the decisive decision to evacuate the day before.

Attraction 7: Yangjiang Hailing Island

Tickets: Free

Visit: Anytime

The night before, I was on the balcony of the 200-yuan sea-view room on Hailing Island, enjoying the sea breeze and feeling the last comfort of the holiday. Unknowingly, it was already half past one in the morning.

(Night view of Hailing Island)

When I woke up in the morning, I saw the scenery in the distance (don't look closely, you will be disappointed if you look closely). I thought this place was pretty good, so I decided to go downstairs and go to the beach to have a look.

Turn back after 20 minutes... After all, it is not as good as the beaches in Wenchang and Sanya.

(I finally remembered that I brought a gimbal to take the photo)

After breakfast, we returned from Hailing Island in Yangjiang to Zhujiang New Town in Guangzhou. The whole journey was 286.8 kilometers and took 3.4 hours. This was the surprise when we came back, there was no traffic jam.

On October 7, Sanya issued a nucleic acid test notice for all employees, restricting the movement of people.

For safety reasons, I took nucleic acid tests twice in Guangzhou on October 6 and October 7, both results were negative, and I kept my green code. By calling the Hainan Epidemic Prevention Department, my Hainan Health Code, which was converted to a yellow code because I did not participate in Sanya’s full nucleic acid test on October 6 (I was already in Guangzhou), was converted to a green code, and I kept my green code again. code.

At this point, this temporarily decided self-driving trip ended successfully and safely.

4. Anything to add at the end?

1. It is better to pay more attention to safety when traveling during the epidemic. If there is a place where nucleic acid testing is available, do it and pay attention to protection;

2. NIO is so convenient for traveling. You can just exchange power stations to replenish your energy. There is no need to queue up. Just check it in advance. Friends have already started to want to replace Xiaopeng with NIO;

3. If you can check in advance which places can be played, it is recommended to stay a little longer;

4. It is not recommended for a person to drive alone. It is best to have more than two people. When encountering epidemic prevention arrangements in different places, one person can get out of the car and ask what is going on ahead. The other person stays in the car. It is always good to have one more person to take care of you. of.
