April in Tibet, I would like to call it, the transitional period between late spring and early summer. The remaining ice and snow on the mountainside and the slight chill in the air have almost dissipated after a long spring. The beautiful scenery is revived and everything is renewed.
However, consumption in Tibet has not increased much. It is more than enough to take four to five thousand to Tibet for ten days and leave another two to three thousand to travel to Tibet!
Today, I will give you some tips for traveling in Tibet in April and May:

Dressing Guide

Jacket: Jackets, jackets, jeans and other outdoor, sports and casual clothing are available. It is recommended that the jacket be slightly thicker.
Underwear: T-shirts, shirts, etc. are acceptable. Pure cotton ones will be more comfortable. Prepare a change of underwear.

Warm clothing: Namtso, Mount Everest, Ali, etc. require sweaters and down jackets. Even in July and August, when the weather is the warmest, the temperature in these scenic spots can be as low as below zero. For Namtso alone, you can bring a thick sweater or a jacket. If you don’t go to these high-altitude scenic spots, you don’t need to take it with you.
Shoes: Outdoor sports shoes with hard soles are recommended. Gravel roads are common during travel. The hard soles are cushioning and will not irritate your feet. Go to Ali Motuo
It is best to wear high-top, hard-soled outdoor shoes.

Note: There are no color taboos in Tibetan clothing. The so-called red is a taboo color spread on the Internet, so just ignore it. Colorful outfits during travel are also a sight to behold!

Luggage carry

How to pack your luggage when traveling is a science.
My friend went to Tibet for the first time and brought a 28-inch suitcase and a large travel bag. It was extremely difficult to move. Fortunately, the driver who came to pick me up was enthusiastic and helped me carry it.
But when I was traveling later, it was a bit inconvenient, and I didn’t bring a convenient backpack. When I went to Mount Everest with my luggage, my suitcase took up space. If it weren’t for the people who were traveling with me, I would have felt like I had to The luggage was thrown out of the car along with the people.

Therefore, I suggest you a small and medium-sized trolley case, or a 60L to 70L travel bag. Put clothes inside, two or three sets are enough; bring daily necessities, towels, toothbrushes, etc. are not recommended for hotels below four-star hotels, but you can bring a pair of slippers; Bring sun protection and moisturizer , if you are not careful you may become a coal-mining brother.
Keep items as refined and small as possible so they don’t take up too much space. Bring a small fanny pack as well, and take any valuable items with you if you are worried about them.

Altitude sickness

Will I get altitude sickness if I fly there? You may experience some altitude sickness when you first arrive in Lhasa. It is recommended that you rest in the city for 1-2 days and take a look around the city.
The following are tips to prevent hypersensitivity, you can refer to them
Before departure:
Soak Rhodiola rosea in water 15 days before departure, or take Rhodiola rosea capsules 7 days in advance. Rhodiola rosea is very effective in improving physical fitness, strengthening cardiovascular system, and alleviating altitude sickness.

On the day of arrival in Tibet:
Don't run around or jump around (it's especially easy to increase the body's demand for oxygen and cause hypersensitivity). Lie quietly, sleep, and drink some 50% glucose solution. (Medicines are sold, which is very convenient). Tibetan hospitals all have high-response first aid facilities, including oxygen inhalation and glucose injection. If you can't bear it anymore, go directly to the hospital. Don't carry it forcefully.
Notes:
1. When you first get off the train or plane, you usually don’t feel anything. You feel it is normal. At this time, many people run and jump around thinking they are right. In fact, this is wrong. Altitude sickness usually occurs when you arrive in Lhasa. It will start after a while or the next day, so when you first arrive, remember not to run, jump, get too excited, don't shout, drink plenty of water, and don't smoke or drink. You can drink some Rhodiola rosea, glucose and the like in moderation. Also remember to try not to take a shower when you first arrive in Tibet! ! !
2. It usually takes 1-2 days to get used to it, so when you arrive in Lhasa, it is recommended to spend 1-2 days in Lhasa: Jokhang Temple, Bajiao Street, Norbulingka, Bu Palace, etc.
3. Carry 50% glucose solution with you. Drinking some can prevent high reflexes to a certain extent.

consumption level

In fact, April in Tibet is a very clever time period. It’s not the huge crowds from June to October. During the peak period, a plane ticket can easily cost three to four thousand yuan. After seven days in Tibet , six thousand or seven thousand yuan is like water.
It is not the off-season for winter tourism from November to April next year. There are only a few tourists, the weather is cold, and electric blankets are indispensable for sleeping at night. Although the cost is low, there are not many beautiful scenic spots, and some places are closed.

Scenic spots

Tibet is an ethnic minority autonomous region with Tibetans as the main body. There are many different ethnic groups with diverse customs and customs, blooming under the same blue sky. This is also the unique feature of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
Many of my friends who go there just go there to appreciate the customs and customs. Here I would like to remind everyone that there should be some moderation when traveling, and please respect each other.

For example, some places in Tibet do not eat fish. You are not allowed to take Mani stones privately by the holy lake. You are not allowed to use any firearms, pointing at eagles and vultures in the sky, and you are not allowed to harm cattle, sheep, or dogs wearing colorful ribbons. Their status is equal to that of humans, and they do not eat dog meat. When visiting temples, you must not make loud noises or be disheveled...
Tibet is waiting for you
Okay, these are some of my personal experiences = things to pay attention to when traveling to Tibet in April and May. I hope it will be helpful to all of you who are planning to travel to Tibet!
