The Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture is located in the Xiannong Altar in Beijing. The Xiannong Altar, also known as the Shanchuan Altar, was a place where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped Xiannong, mountains and rivers, gods, and Taisui gods. The altar temple was built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty. (1420), most of the preserved buildings were built in the first year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1522). All the buildings are surrounded by double inner and outer walls. The plane is rectangular with a circle in the north and a circle in the south.
