The Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture is a thematic museum whose main content is the collection, preservation, research, and display of ancient Chinese architectural history, ancient architectural culture, and ancient architectural technology. The Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture is located in the Xiannong Altar in Beijing. The Xiannong Altar, also known as the Shanchuan Altar, was a place where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped Xiannong, mountains and rivers, gods, and Taisui gods. The altar temple was built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty. (1420), most of the preserved buildings were built in the first year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1522). All the buildings are surrounded by double inner and outer walls. The plane is rectangular with a circle in the north and a circle in the south. The buildings in the altar can be divided into three groups, namely, the first The Altar of Agriculture, the Altar of Gods and Earth, and the Taisui Hall.
The museum display content includes ancient architectural entities and ancient Chinese architectural art exhibits. The former uses the Xiannongtan ancient building complex as the display content, and the latter introduces the development of ancient Chinese architectural art with the "Ancient Chinese Architecture" exhibition display system.
