Scenic spot introduction:

St. Peter's Basilica in Vaticano is named after the tomb of St. Peter in the center of the church. It is the central church of Roman Christianity, a pilgrimage site for European Catholics and the papal court of the Vatican. The church is in Romanesque and Baroque architectural styles, with a total area of 23,000 square meters. The main building is 45.4 meters high and about 211 meters long. It can accommodate nearly 60,000 people praying at the same time, making it the largest church in the world.

St. Peter's Basilica was originally built by Constantine the Great on the site of St. Peter's tomb and was completed in 326 AD, known as the Old St. Peter's Basilica. In the 16th century, Pope Julio II decided to rebuild St. Peter's Basilica and broke ground in 1506. During the subsequent 120-year reconstruction process, Italy's best architects Bramante, Michelangelo, Della Porta and Carlo Martel successively presided over the design and construction. It was not until November 18, 1626 that it was officially declared completed and named the New St. Peter's Basilica. Important religious ceremonies since 1870 have been held here.
St. Peter's Basilica is the world's largest domed cathedral, built in Romanesque and Baroque styles. You can overlook the whole city of Rome from the top of the dome in the middle of the church, and stand on the circular platform inside the dome to overlook the Inside the church , admire the large mosaics on the inner wall of the dome, among which the more famous ones include Michelangelo's statue of "Lamentation over Christ" and Raphael's oil painting "The School of Athens".

October - May of the following year: Monday to Friday 10:00-12:00 in the morning and 14:00-17:00 in the afternoon; Saturday 10:00-17:30; Sunday 12:00-17:30.

June-September: Monday to Saturday 9:30-18:30, Sunday 12:00-18:30.
