Chang'an Xingjiao Temple Travel Guide

Chang'an Xingjiao Temple is the first of the eight major temples in Fanchuan in the Tang Dynasty. It is also known as the Huguo Xingjiao Temple. It is located about 20 kilometers south of Xi'an, on the bank of Shaolingyuan, Duqu Town, Chang'an District, and in the North Plains of Fanchuan (Shaoling Plateau) in Chang'an District. . The temple is the resting place of Master Xuanzang, a famous translator and traveler in the Tang Dynasty. In 664 AD, after the famous eminent monk Xuanzang passed away, he was buried in Bailuyuan. In the second year of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (669 AD), he was reburied in Fanchuan Fengqiyuan, and a five-story spiritual pagoda was built. The following year, a temple was built based on the pagoda. Suzong of the Tang Dynasty inscribed: With the word "Xingjiao", it was named Xingjiao Temple from then on. It is now a national key cultural relic protection unit.
