Dalian Fortress Mountain Park Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Dalian Fortress Mountain Park was originally part of the coastal defense project built by the Qing government in Dalian Bay in 1887 in order to prepare for the establishment of the Beiyang Navy in the late Qing Dynasty. Now it has been rebuilt as a leisure park and has become a good place for people to sightsee and walk. Fortress Mountain, known as Xujiashan in history, is the largest of the six forts surrounding Dalian Bay. These guns were purchased from the Krupp factory in Germany. They were the most advanced cannons in the world at that time that could freely rotate up and down, left, and right.
In 1894, Japanese imperialism launched a war of aggression against China and occupied this fort on the morning of November 7. On December 25, 1895, the Japanese army withdrew from the Xujiashan Fort, blew up the fort barracks and ammunition depot, and removed the cannon parts. On March 28, 1898, the Tsarist Russian army occupied the Xujiashan Fort. On February 9, 1904, the Russo-Japanese War broke out. On May 30, the Japanese army occupied the Xujiashan Fort. When the Tsarist Russian army retreated, they blew up the Xujiashan Fort and turned all the cannons into waste.

Fortress Hill Park is located on Harbin Road in Jinzhou. It is widely planted with trees and has good greening. There are fort ruins in the park, equipped with 4 cannons, as well as a viewing platform, Gathering Hall, Sino-Japanese Youth Friendship Cherry Blossom Forest, etc. Climbing to the observation deck, you can overlook the scenery of the entire development area.
