Fuzhou Kaiyuan Temple was once a royal temple and ancestral temple, and is the oldest existing temple in Fujian Province. It was first built in the third year of Taiqing in the Southern Dynasties (549). It was originally called "Lingshan Temple" and later changed to "Dayun Temple". In the early Tang Dynasty, it was also called Longxing Temple. . Located in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, the temple houses a thousand-year-old large iron Buddha cast in the fourth year of Liang Zhenming in the Five Dynasties.
