Introduction to the Iron Buddha: The Kaiyuan Temple Iron Buddha is currently the best-preserved and largest ancient casting in the country. It is the largest ancient iron-cast Maitreya Buddha statue discovered so far. Its smelting technology and sculpture art are all in ancient my country. It is of first-class quality and can be called a national treasure. The iron Buddha is 5.92 meters high, the head diameter is 1.45 meters, the lotus seat is 0.5 meters high, the girth is 2.18 meters, and the total weight is about 52 tons. The current structure of the Iron Buddha consists of three layers, namely the original casting, the surface coating, and the coating with gold foil.
