Scenic spot introduction:

Gangtey Gompa is the only Nyingmapa Red Sect ashram in the Montenegro Mountains. It occupies a prime location in the Phobjikha Valley, surrounded by mountains. From the temple, you can see the Phobjikha Valley in the distance. According to legend, Pemme Lingpa, the only Bhutanese disciple of Padmasambhava, predicted that a temple would appear here and that Buddhism would be promoted here. In 1613, Pema Thingli, Pema Thingli, the grandson of Pema Lingpa and his reincarnation, built a Nyingmapa Gangtey Monastery here.
