Scenic spot introduction:

The Jampa Ling Monastery in Qamdo, Tibet is the earliest and largest monastery among the Gelugpa monasteries in Qamdo. The Gelugpa Buddhist monastery is located at the confluence of the Angqu and Zaqu rivers in Qamdo Town. It is majestically attached to the Hengduan Mountains and stands on the red soil layer cut by ancient glaciers. The monastery was founded by Tsongkhapa's disciple Xirab Songbu in 1444 AD. The main Buddha in the monastery is Jampa (Great Compassion) Buddha, which is why the monastery got its name.

Attractions distribution:

The main buildings of the temple are well preserved. There are hundreds of Buddha statues and eminent monks in the scripture hall, thousands of square meters of murals and numerous thangka paintings. It can be said that it is a collection of the wisdom and talent of the craftsmen in Qamdo and represents the highest level in Qamdo. Buddha Hall , Dharma Protector Hall, Mahakala Hall, Mandala Hall, Deyang Grand Hall, Nine Zhacang, Sutra Debating Institute, Eight Auspicious Pagodas and other buildings. The halls are Tibetan architectural style, all of which are earth, wood and stone structures. The temple has overlapping courtyards and numerous halls, which are magnificent and grand in scale.

How to get there:

Taxi: Take a taxi from downtown Lhasa, the fare is 5 Yuan.

Hiking: From a corner of the square opposite Changqing Street in the old district of Changdu Town, walk up along a very steep winding mountain road for about 10 minutes.
