Amalienborg Slot (Amalienborg Slot) is the main palace of the Danish royal family today. The palace is located on the shore of the Øresund Strait in the east of Copenhagen. It is a typical Gothic castle. The current King Queen Margaret II lives here. Copenhagen is also called the "Queen's City" because the Queen lives here.

Today, if Her Majesty the Queen is not on a diplomatic mission abroad but is handling state affairs at the royal palace, the Danish flag will be raised on the palace.
The palace is open to the public in several private rooms with preserved interior decorations, as well as Christian III's residence, which displays many treasures belonging to the Danish royal family. When visiting the palace, tourists can take pictures with the guards on duty, but they must keep a distance of one meter from the guards. When the guards leave, tourists can leave.
