Travel Guide to Quanzhou Xiangshan Temple

Quanzhou Xiangshan Temple is located at the foot of Xiangshan Mountain in the west corner of Quanzhou County, Guilin City, Guangxi. It was originally named "Pure Land Temple". It has the reputation of "prospering the Tang Dynasty and highlighting the Song Dynasty" and the elegant name of "the first famous temple in southern Chu". Xiangshan Temple was built in the first year of Zhide in the Tang Dynasty (756 AD) and was originally named "Pure Land Temple". The monk Quanzhen, a high-ranking monk from Jingshan, Hangzhou, was the founder of the temple. In the past, Xiangshan Temple covered an area of 2 square kilometers and had a prosperous scene of 48 halls and 108 rooms. The temple has gone through the Tang, Song, Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods, and it has been more than 1,250 years to date. Although it has been repaired many times during this period, it gradually declined during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and later suffered from wars and wars. From 1986 to 1988, it was rebuilt by the government organization and designed and constructed by Master Huaishan. Hall of Infinite Life Buddha , Release Pond , Yuantong Hall and three dormitories, a newly carved statue of Amitayus, three statues of Guanyin, 25 statues of Yuantong Bodhisattva, one statue each of Manjusri and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, the thousand-year-old temple is now completely renewed and the Dharma lamp is still burning. There is a flying stone on the top of the mountain, which is said to have flown from Mount Xumi. There are scenic spots such as Xibo Rock and Zhuanzhuan Rock in the east. The surrounding peaks are lush and forested, and the caves are deep.
