Beidaihe, a summer resort since ancient times, is located in the west of the center of Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, and is one of the urban areas of Qinhuangdao. Beidaihe is influenced by the marine climate, with no extreme heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. It maintains the first-class air quality all year round, with no pollution and noise. The city has a forest coverage rate of 54% and an average green area of 630 square meters per capita. It is the earliest developed tourist resort in China.Beidaihe District has a long history. As early as the Neolithic Age, our ancestors lived and multiplied on this land. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, it belonged to the Guzhu State. In 664 BC, Guzhu was destroyed and the land belonged to the Yan State. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it belonged to the Yan State. In the 25th year of Qin Wangzheng (222 BC), Qin general Wang Ben attacked Liaodong through here, captured Yan Wangxi, and Yan was destroyed.
Beidaihe Beach has good sand quality and a gentle slope, making it an excellent natural bathing beach. In addition to summer vacation, Beidaihe is also a great place for delicious seafood, including mantis shrimp, noodle fish, crabs, oysters and other seafood.

Beidaihe District is close to the Bohai Bay, and its specialty products are mainly seafood: crabs, scallops, sea locust fish, barracuda, cuttlefish, hairtail, squid, conch, clams and other shellfish varieties, which are the essence of Bohai Bay seafood products. Handicrafts include various pearl ornaments: door curtains, necklaces, pearl pendants, etc. There is also a kind of ornament made by locals using flat snails (a kind of snail that glows on the seabed), which is a combination of local specialties and handmade art. How to get there:
Take bus No. 5 from Beidaihe Railway Station or bus No. 34 from Qinhuangdao Railway Station and get off at Beidaihe Seaside Terminal.
In Beidaihe District, you can also take the No. 21 coastal ring bus for sightseeing, or take the No. 15 bus for a semi-circle tour of the east and west urban areas.
