Banliang Ancient Village in Chenzhou is known as the "No. 1 Village in Southern Hunan" with the largest scale, best preservation, best Feng Shui and richest cultural heritage. It has a history of more than 600 years. The entire village of Banliang has the same surname and clan, and is a descendant of the Liu family of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It is a typical clan settlement in southern Hunan. The entire ancient village is located on the mountain, and is very large in scale. The ancient houses have survived thousands of tribulations, with carved beams and painted roofs, and raised eaves. Whether it is water-polished blue bricks, matching doors, or brick carvings, stone carvings, and wood carvings, the craftsmanship is very special. Exquisite and breathtaking, it is the only "Famous Historical and Cultural Village in China" in Chenzhou City.

Banliang Ancient Village is located in Gaoting Township, Yongxing County, covering an area of 3 square kilometers. There are still more than 360 intact historical buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties preserved in the ancient village, including temples, pavilions, old private schools, ancient shopping streets, ancient banks, pagodas, ancient wells, etc. The layout is clever and contains ancient Chinese patriarchal rituals and Confucianism. Tradition, Feng Shui concepts, philosophical awareness, architectural techniques, ecological principles, etc. are amazing.

How to get there:

Bus route: Take a bus from Chenzhou to Ma Tian, Leiyang or Hengyang, get off at the intersection of Banliang Ancient Village (remember to ask the driver to remind you to get off before getting on the bus), and then take a motorcycle or van to the scenic spot.

Self-driving route:

1. Guangzhou/Chenzhou → Go north on the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway → Yongxing → Get off at the Martin Exit → Turn to National Highway 107 in about 15 minutes → Turn left and cross the bridge to see Yue After coming to the hot spring/Banliang Ancient Village advertising sign, turn right for 5 minutes and you will arrive

Changzhutan/Hengyang → Go south on the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway → Leiyang → Get off at the Ginghe Exit → Turn to National Highway 107 towards Guangzhou → Drive for about 15 minutes and cross the bridge. After seeing the Yuelai Hot Spring/Banliang Ancient Village advertising sign, turn right for 5 minutes and you will arrive

3. Changsha → Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway → "Matian" Exit, Zhonghe Toll Station Get off → Mafu Highway → Turn left to Madian Coal Mine → Turn right to Matian Town → G107 → Jiangjun Street → Turn right to Masan Highway → Shuiyuan Village → Turn left to Banliang Ancient Village
