Linqu Laolong Bay Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Linqu Laolong Bay has been known as the "North Country Jiangnan" since ancient times. Its original name was Xunye Water, which was formed by the collection of underground spring water gushing out of the surface. The main spring at the west end, Xunye Spring, has been recorded in the history book "Qi Cheng" during the Warring States Period. Li Daoyuan, a geographer of the Northern Wei Dynasty, wrote in "Shui Jing Zhu": "Xunye Water has become famous." According to legend, there is a spring in Laolong Bay that leads directly to the East China Sea. It is unfathomable and a dragon lurks in it, hence its name. When tourists stand near the water, they see strings of bubbles rising from the bottom of the water, like thousands of pearls. The south bank is surrounded by bamboo forests, and the north bank is covered with willows. Ducks and geese are playing on the water, and birds are perched in the bamboo forests. In the scorching heat of midsummer, the water in Laolong Bay is cool and sweet, refreshing the skin; the water in Laolong Bay has a constant temperature (17--18°C) all year round, but during the cold winter, layers of clouds and mist float on the water. The ancients then left the poem "The smoke and mist of Yeyuan are warm in three winters" in "Poems of Eight Great Scenes of Linqu". Laolongwan Scenic Area is located in front of Yeyuan Village, 12.5 kilometers south of Linqu County, at the northern foot of Haifu Mountain.
