As early as 1935, snacks in Chong'an Temple included eight-treasure sugar porridge, rice dumplings with rice flour, ice-crushed red dates and ginkgo soup, crabapple cake, beef vermicelli soup, squid, vegetarian and meat tofu pudding, heavy oil tow oven cake, steamed buns, beef dumplings, sugar-roasted water chestnuts, fried tofu, meat wontons, hand-pushed wontons, eel noodles, siomai, three-fresh soup dumplings, corn cakes, spring rolls, etc. There were 29 stalls, among which Wang Amei's sugar porridge and sugar taro, Chen Shigen's rice dumplings and Ding Aliu's duck blood soup were more famous. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, plum blossom cakes, shredded radish cakes, chicken pancakes, eight-treasure rice, lotus seed soup, square cakes, mung bean cakes, thousand-piece buns, thousand-layer cakes, Huzhou rice dumplings, and double-brewed dumplings were added.
