Zhongying Street is located in the southern part of Shatoujiao Town in the eastern part of Shenzhen City. It was originally named "Cormorant Path". At the end of the 19th century, after the British colonists forced the Qing government to sign an unequal treaty, they forcibly leased the Kowloon Peninsula north of the boundary street. The vast area south of the Shenzhen River, including more than 230 islands such as Lantau Island, became the so-called "New Territories". Zhongying Street was formed during this period when the British colonialists expanded the "New Territories" and re-surveyed the boundaries. There is a British street erected boundary marker , with this as the boundary, the east side is the Chinese territory Sha Tau Kok, and the west side is the British territory Sha Tau Kok. boundary marker Houses were built nearby, and villagers started to set up stalls to do business. Gradually, a small street was formed here. After China and Hong Kong signed the opening agreement of the Sino-British Street in 1983, both sides invested a lot of money, manpower and material resources in the Sino-British Street. The construction of large-scale buildings, street renovation and shops made the street prosper rapidly, attracting a large number of tourists to come here for shopping.
