Scenic spot introduction:
The Hoover Dam is an arch-type gravity man-made concrete dam and a world-famous water conservancy project. The dam is 220 meters high, 200 meters wide at the bottom, 14 meters wide at the top, and 377 meters long. It has comprehensive benefits such as flood control, irrigation, power generation, shipping, and water supply. The reservoir formed by the dam is called Lake Mead, with a total storage capacity of 34.85 billion cubic meters. The installed capacity of the hydropower station was originally 1.34 million kW, but it has now been expanded to 2.08 million kW and is planned to reach 2.452 million kW. Construction began in April 1931, was completed in March 1936, and the first unit officially generated electricity in October 1936. The Colorado River below the dam was originally the deepest and most turbulent river in the United States, but now it flows slowly like a tamed beast. The Hoover Dam is located in the northwest of Arizona. Interstate 93 Black Canyon is located on the northwestern border of Nevada and Arizona.Best time to visit:
