The hometown of Laozi has always been a holy place for both official and private people to worship Laozi. It is located in Taiqinggong Town, Luyi County, Henan Province. It has been recognized by official and folk traditions as the hometown of Laozi for thousands of years. In history, eight emperors visited Luyi to worship Lao Tzu, which is supported and recognized by most contemporary Chinese and foreign authoritative institutions.
