Scenic spot introduction:

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the earliest and largest existing square pavilion-style brick pagoda of the Tang Dynasty. It is a masterpiece of Chinese Buddhist architectural art of the Tang Dynasty and a famous tourist attraction in Xi'an. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is also known as the Great Ci'en Temple Pagoda. It was originally called the West Courtyard Pagoda of Ci'en Temple. It was built by Xuanzang to preserve the Buddhist scriptures and statues brought back to Chang'an from India via the Silk Road. The pagoda was built in 652 AD. It has seven floors and is 64.5 meters high. It is regarded as a symbol of the ancient capital of Xi'an and is now a world cultural heritage.
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was a famous tourist attraction in the Tang Dynasty, so there are a lot of inscriptions left by literati and scholars. There are more than 200 inscriptions in the Ming and Qing dynasties alone. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a pavilion-style brick tower. The tower body is a square cone, and the bays are formed by imitation wood structures. The bays decrease in proportion from bottom to top. There are wooden ladders inside the tower to climb up. There is an arch doorway on each side of each floor. There is a thousand-year-old underground palace under the tower. But until now, no one knows where the treasures brought back by Xuanzang are hidden, which has become a big mystery of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
