Scenic spot introduction:
Longmen Grottoes is one of the three famous stone carving art treasures in China, located on both sides of the Yi River 12 kilometers south of Luoyang, Henan Province. The scenery here is beautiful, with two green mountains facing each other in the east and west, and the Yi River flowing slowly northward. From a distance, it looks like a natural gate, so it was called "Yi Que" in ancient times. Since ancient times, it has been the first attraction for visiting Longmen. After hundreds of years of excavation from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty, there are still more than 2,100 caves and niches, more than 100,000 statues, and more than 3,600 inscriptions on steles.The Longmen Grottoes were excavated during the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. After that, they were continuously built on a large scale for more than 400 years during the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, and Song dynasties. They are 1 kilometer long from north to south. The Longmen Grottoes have lasted for a long time and spanned many dynasties. With a large number of physical images and text materials, they reflect the development and changes in many fields of ancient China such as politics, economy, religion, and culture from different perspectives, and have made a significant contribution to the innovation and development of Chinese grotto art.

How to get there:
The grottoes are located 12 kilometers south of Luoyang city and can be reached by taking bus No. 81 from Luoyang Railway Station.
You can also get there by taking buses 53, 81 and 60 from other parts of the city.
There are also shuttle buses between Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple.

Half-price discount recipients
1. Half-price admission will be applied to minors aged 6 (not including 6 years old) to 18 (including 18 years old), full-time university undergraduates, postgraduates and students below.
