Yanshi Shangcheng Museum is the only historical thematic museum in China that focuses on the research, display and promotion of Xia and Shang Dynasties. It is located in the southwest corner of Yanshi City, 100 meters east of the Yanshi Shangcheng site. It was built in October 1985. It was completed and opened in April 1987. It has a collection of more than 20,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, a scientific management system, rich display content, novel forms, complete facilities, and a beautiful environment. It can be called the "Pearl of Western Henan and the Treasure House of China."

The Yanshi Mall Museum covers an area of ​​about 16,000 square meters, with a construction area of ​​3,100 square meters and an exhibition room area of ​​1,100 square meters. Construction started in October 1985 and was completed in April 1987. The main building of the museum is an antique palace complex in the style of "Four Ah Chong Houses". The hall is in the middle, connected by corridors and verandas, with blue bricks and blue tiles, simple and elegant. The museum collects nearly 10,000 cultural relics. The special exhibition "Xia and Shang Royal Capital Civilization Exhibition" has an exhibition hall area of ​​​​1,100 square meters. It has the themes of "Xia Capital Pouring" and "Shang Capital Xibo" and displays the Erlitou ruins and Yanshi Mall. A large number of ritual vessels and daily utensils unearthed from the site mainly include bronze wares, jade wares, ivory wares, bone wares, gold and silver wares, lacquer wares, pottery, etc., as well as nearly a thousand pieces of stele statues, stone epitaphs, and turquoise miniature carvings, and restored Xia and Shang Dynasties. The second-generation city palace model, in addition to temporary exhibitions such as "Treasures of the Past Dynasties", "Tang Sancai", "Buddhist Art", and "Chinese Currency of the Past Dynasties" are also held.
